Can’t find your size in our stock range? Design it here. Choose the bag type, film gauge and dimensions — we’ll show you the limits our machines can hold, draw it to scale, and send the specification to our team for a quote.

1. Design your bag

Which bag do you want made?
Film gauge (thickness)

Thicker film costs more but resists puncture and holds a seal on bigger bags.

Finishing (optional)

Easy-open notch in the top seal.

Print needs print-ready artwork, a plate charge and a higher minimum run.

pouches

Minimum 10,000 pouches for a custom size.

Good to know

  • Sealed on three edges, filled through the open mouth.
  • Usable space inside the seals is about 180 × 275 mm — allow room for your product to sit flat.

What to know about vacuum pouchs

Nylon / PE laminate · 3-side seal · smooth (chamber machines)

  • Sizes are outside dimensions, measured flat: width across the mouth × length down the bag, before filling.
  • Seals take roughly 10 mm from each side and 15 mm at the mouth, so the usable space is smaller than the bag.
  • Allow at least 20 mm extra width and 30 mm extra length over your product. Vacuum pulls the film tight, and a “perfect fit” pouch strains the seals.
  • Smooth pouches only work in chamber (seal-bar) machines. External or domestic suction sealers need embossed channel pouches instead.
  • The pouch has to fit inside your chamber and lie flat under the seal bar — check your machine before choosing a size.
  • Bones, shell and frozen edges can puncture thin film. Step up a gauge for anything sharp or abrasive.
  • Suitable for chilling, freezing and sous-vide to about 90°C. Retort or boil-in-bag above 100°C needs a different laminate — talk to us.
Tolerances
±3 mm on width and length, and ±10% on film gauge — standard flexible-packaging manufacturing tolerances.
Minimum run
10,000 pouches. Custom sizes are made to order, so there is a minimum run.
Lead time
Made to order — allow around 6–8 weeks from artwork and size sign-off.

How to measure

  1. Measure your product at its widest and tallest, sitting the way it will sit in the bag.
  2. Add at least 20 mm to the width and 30 mm to the length for the seals and the “puff” once it is filled.
  3. Bulky or fluffy contents need more again — size on volume, not weight. Two products of the same weight can need very different bags.
  4. Hanging the pack? Add about 30 mm of header above the contents for the hang hole.
  5. Not sure? Send us a sample of the product and we will size it for you.

2. Your custom sizes

Custom sizes are quoted, not sold online. We will confirm the specification, tooling, minimum run and lead time before anything is made. Supplied on our terms of trade.
